Being of a 'certain age', John fondly remembers his days at the then Taunton Technical College (now SCAT - Somerset College of Arts and Technology) on a full-time course, Monday to Friday 9am to 3.30pm.
So, when his 16-year-old daughter attended her College last week for her induction and received her timetable for her full-time creative media course - with lessons on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning only - he was dumbfounded!
John says "if the definition of full-time education means two and a half days, then education has gone completely mad. A whole generation is being short-changed and our nation's workforce are being ill-equipped for playing their role in rebuilding our economy destroyed by bankers and politicians!".
