I am
out in Lanzarote at the moment seeing what the SunParkLiving way of life has to
offer. You may remember I mentioned them
in an earlier bulletin that reported the fact that those in the age group 50
and over were becoming sandwiched in between the demands of their children and
the responsibilities for their own parents.
The Sun Park Living concept is a new one that I did not fully appreciate
until I got here. It had been explained
to me but seeing it in action was a revelation.
I have come to believe that this is the way we should all be seeking to
spend our retirement. The atmosphere at
SunParkLiving is relaxed and it is run for the people by the people. There are no rules except those that the
community have decided make sense and everywhere there is the bustle of people
making themselves at home. Gardening is
a big priority and there are some very talented gardeners amongst those who are
at SunParkLiving usually for longer periods, some even permanently. The idea is to provide long-term accommodation
with no strings attached to the active retired, and from what I have seen it
really works. Everyone seems happy and
healthy and full of an enthusiasm that you would expect to see in people twenty
years younger.
