Children's headaches
Most children and teenagers get at least one headache a year. Children and teenagers have different headaches than adults.
Headaches, including migraines, are shorter in children. In children headaches happen quickly and the child gets pale and feels sick. But luckily they get better quickly.
The headache can go away in half an hour with child playing like nothing happened.
Children’s headaches can also make them have tummy aches. Children can get them if they skip lunch, don’t sleep enough or don’t drink enough.
When I have sleepover I get a headache because I get tired as I don’t sleep as much as I normally do.
The best way for parents To stop your children from getting headaches is to make sure
they have regular food and drink, they get enough sleep, give them a good breakfast and to put them to bed at a fixed time each night. If your child has a headache then lie them down in a quiet room, put a cold towel on their forehead or eyes, get them to have a nap and make sure they have plenty of water.
If there head still hurts give them Calpol, Ibuprofen or Paracetamol to stop the pain.
