Ebola
As children listening to the news we have heard a lot about Ebola that is a life-threating and fatal virus. luckily its rare. The current outbreak is the deadliest since ebola was first discovered in 1976. More than 4,493 people have died from this virus. You can not get it by sitting in the same room as somebody who is infected by the virus.
You can get Ebola through direct contact with body fluids of an infected human or animal. These include: blood ,saliva, sick, sweat and wee.
Early on, Ebola can
feel like the flu. Symptom's show up 2-27 days after infection and usually
include: high fever, headache ,joint and muscle aches, sore throat, weakness,
tummy ache, not eating very much. As the virus gets worse, it causes
bleeding inside the body, from the eyes, nose, mouth or ears. some people will
be sick or cough up blood, have bloody diarrhoea and get a rash.
Anyone who cares for an infected person or handles their blood or fluid samples is at risk of becoming infected. Nurses, doctors, laboratory workers and family members are at greatest risk. When you are caring for somebody who is infected wear protective clothing. Theres not a cure for ebola yet, but the sooner a person is given care, the better the chances that they will survive.
